Haute Cakes in Newport Beach

Nice, relaxing atmosphere with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. The staff is very hospitable. The Haute cakes(pancakes) are very good, probably some of the better pancakes I've had. The Ricotta haute cake is definitely worth a try, but if you like it simple, the buttermilk haute cakes are just as delicious! :)

Good food

Usually one of my favorite places bit today on Valentine's Day the bakery shelves seemed pretty picked ovwr by 10:45am. The Hot Cocoa was not tasty. On the other hand the service staff was wonderful!!! 5 stars for the staff.

This place is owned by Paul and Tania and they are killing it! The food and drink were amazing. They great a new drink - celery sparkling lemonade - it s a must try.They have a great tea selection as well. Also, there is a really relaxing outside patio. Don’t forget to visit the flower/gift shop by the restaurant. Tania makes the restaurant flowers arrangements right there.

Haute Cakes has only turned it up a notch for delicious menu items and their preparation over the years. Now with a gorgeous revamp of the interior design, eating here is even more of an awesome experience. Couldn't recommend it more, beautiful place. A+++

Our experience was great. Went here with one of my besties. Avocado toast was excellent! Paul was very attentive.

Amazing menu, not a bad thing to eat! The corn meal cakes are so moist and delicate but wonderfully filling at the same time. Literally can't go wrong with the haute combo and any pancakes of your choice. Make sure to check out the special menu though, lots of delicious options there too!

I am eating the viennoiseries since that's what I got. The chocolate croissant is ok. They use butter sweet chocolate chips in it which did not fully melt. The dough is good bit not the best. The name is misleading since there is no other pastries. There is a nice small courtyard where you can sit outside.

I have always enjoyed visiting this establishment. The service is good and so is the food. On one occasion, I was disappointed with the service and food, grant it they were extremely busy on that day so I gave them grace. ☺️ They always make up for it. Thank you for your service and kindness towards me. I always feel welcomed. #hautecakesfanforever

The food is so good. I'm sure it is overwhelming on the weekends, but a great spot on week days. No hostess - customers go up to order and find their own seating. The huevos were amazing!!! My sister had the avocado toast and loved it too.

Great food, indoor/outdoor seating and a great policy on saving tables. Had a delicious brunch here with my best friend. Random location, but would definitely return!

Great place to have a quick bite for breakfast or lunch. The chocolate croissant was pretty good, small though. The orange muffin was flavorful and not too sweet, moist, good texture. My latte was average. Good amount of outdoor seatings. Prices a bit on the high end.

Very popular breakfast menu. Closed by 3pm. Outdoor seating and a table tennis table in courtyard setting.

The avocado toast was tasty and so was the Pierre Scramble with asparagus, although the scramble portion was small. The toast with jam was good. The reason we won't return is that the coffee was very acidic. My husband and I drink our coffee black but had to add milk to make it drinkable (barely). There are too many good coffees around, so there's no excuse for serving bad coffee.

I love an eggy breakfast. I've never found pancakes anywhere else that can rival my Mom's and dissuade me from a tasty omelette. But the pancakes at Haute Cakes are amazing! It is the only place I'll order the pancakes without question... and the real maple syrup doesn't hurt.

Went on a Sunday but this place is super busy and packed!! It is worth the wait though. The busser/ food runner works hard! Food is deeeeelish!!!

The Haute Cake caffe is I think the best place 2 eat if you want quality service, delicious food,and nice waiters.I did not like one of my pancakes so they remade it for free with free pastries I was so grateful for this.I highly recommend eating here.No critsims

Such an amazing shop for breakfast. They have great service and even better food. They patio area to sit in outside is such a great environment. My family enjoyed it quite a bit. Was a little surprised to see how sloppy they were with the cappuccino though. She just peed milk as quickly as possible.

Paul's eclectic menu leaves little to be desired of even by the most demanding customers. 5 stars!

Got the ricotta pancakes, but couldn’t taste the ricotta. Our egg sandwiches were good. Paul came over and tried to remedy the situation, server was very helpful.

I love their bacon. Very thick, crispy and filling. Their oatmeal blueberry pancakes (with banana) are out of this world. Their blackberry jam seems home made..fantastic. Their cappuccinos are outstanding. Great high quality teas. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Even if a mistake was made, i have never left displeased. Always with a full stomach and satisfied tastebuds. Great spot. If there’s ever a wait, it’s worth it. NO COMPLAINTS! Thanks for the excellent service, atmosphere, and food!

Such a beautiful outdoor space to enjoy an amazing salad! This is a very special place for me and I think the owners have done such a wonderful job!

Gourmet breakfast options. Great coffee. Moist pancakes with real maple syrup. Just don't get the cornmeal pancakes. Those are horribly dense and dry. Gourmet breakfast sausage. I recommend the Pierre Scramble that comes with asparagus, feta, and lightly grilled onions. Hint, any of the scrambles can come as a side order if you want a smaller cheaper portion. Also every week there is a Specials sheet by the cashier, which has bonus menu items on it. But avoid the fried chicken special. It's flavorless and somewhat overcooked. Beautiful outdoor seating area!

No line at 9:30 today (Saturday)! The avocado toast and huevos rancheros were excellent. One star off for only having whole milk or almond milk for the latte (ie no skim or low fat).

Everything here is great but the Orange Ricotta Haute Cakes are the best.

I had the brussel sprouts scramble and it was delicious. The cafe mocha was also great. There was a long line but the service was quick so it didn't feel like a long wait. I'll definitely be coming back.

Great food, coffee, and vibe. Staff is really friendly and brings your food to you. There's indoor and outdoor seating. Highlight were the pancakes and real maple syrup. Cold brew is excellent as well.It's very reasonably priced for the quality. Will definitely be bringing friends here for brunch in the future.

We decided to come here one pleasant Sunday morning. The pumpkin pancakes made it turn from a pleasant breakfast to a heavenly haute. The bacon tasted like it came from prize winning porkers. The pricing is very good for the quality of the food you get. Get the cinnamon custard to share with the table. You won’t find it on the menu! The service is great and this little cafe won’t let you down.

We’ve been coming here for Sunday breakfast. I love that the staff is consistent; some of them know our ordering nuances and can guess our modifications even if we forget to mention them. It’s nice to see familiar faces. The space is small but atmosphere is refreshing and spaced well. Lots of trees, vines and plants. The food is delicious. There are plenty of options without being overwhelming, and they allow some modifications to make dishes dairy free or gluten free. The gf oatmeal blueberry pancakes are one of my favorite! I don’t know the owner personally but have seen him around talking to people and helping the staff. He really seems down to earth and kind. Highly recommend this places. Suggest coming early if you want to try it before it gets “crowded”.

Like their breakfast selection here. Coffee is average as they use Stumptown. Would definitely come back here though for breakfast. Good place for eggs and pancakes. Found my new favorite place for breakfast in Costa Mesa 😊

My food was really tasty and the place had a chill atmosphere. Had a really lovely brunch. Blueberry pancakes, bacon, and eggs... Yummy!

As far as breakfast goes.. This is top of the pyramid.. Exquisitely craft food with a lot of attention to detail. Had the huevos rancho plate and it was a huge departure from tradition (in a very good way) The freshness and organic qualities makes this meal bright, colorful and really pop. The breakfest sandwich has thick crisp smoked bacon with eggs, avocado on a fresh bun. The coffee is good but not great..still a great choice if your in Newport Beach.

Very busy specially on a cold rainy day, where nobody wants to sit outside. Inside it is very noisy, but I enjoy the design with the light blue tiles. The food is great. The coffee is too acidic and sour, my wife and I had a flat white. Just get a tea, if you want a hot beverage. Staff is nice, friendly and pays attention to details.

Go for the pancakes, stay for the ambience!!! Great outdoor courtyard seating that is shaded and surrounded by plants. The location is odd from the outside, but once you’re in the courtyard it’s completely wonderful!

Place is nice and has been recently remodel and has outside seating. Good choices for breakfast. The breakfast pancakes and huevos rancheros are very good.

It was worth the drive. I only eat pancakes when I crave them...I had a love affair with them. I look forward to going back.
